Golfing: Play a round at the championship courses at Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure, which features the Apple Valley and Bald Mountain courses.

Mountain Biking: With 86 miles of multi-use trails, it is a premier destination for cyclists. The Ridgeline Trail is highly rated for its flowing descents. The 31 mile Ecusta Trail from Hendersonville to Brevard is under construction with the first 6 miles open from Hendersonville to Horse Shoe. The Saluda Grade Trail has been approved and planning is underway with construction starting soon. This will be a 19 mile trail from Inman, SC to Zirconium, NC, passing right by our house.

Horseback Riding: Features over 15 miles of designated equestrian trails winding through forests and meadows.

Swimming: Hooker Falls and Fawn Lake are popular spots to cool off, though there are no lifeguards on duty. Also check out Sliding Rock, a 60' natural water slide that does have lifeguards.

This district is easily accessed via US 276 north of Brevard and is the most popular area for day-trippers.

Looking Glass Falls: A breathtaking, 60-foot waterfall located right off the highway. It features an easily accessible viewing platform and a staircase to the base.

Sliding Rock: An iconic, 60-foot natural rock waterslide with an 8-foot deep plunge pool at the bottom. Lifeguards are typically on duty during peak summer months, and a small fee applies.

Looking Glass Rock: A massive granite monolith highly sought after by hikers and rock climbers. The 6.5-mile roundtrip trail takes you through a steep, switchback-filled ascent to panoramic summit views.
