LUNCH and DINNER

The Purple Onion (Saluda)

A fantastic dinner restaurant with a great 3-season covered patio as well as outdoor tables under umbrellas and inside seating. The menu is slightly Mediterranean, though there are burgers and other non-Mediterranean dishes on the menu. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome on the patio. Open 11:00 - 3:00 for lunch and opens at 5:00 pm for dinner. Closed Tuesdays.

Flat Rock Village Bakery (Flat Rock)

Hands-down one of the best breakfast places we have ever been to anywhere, but they also serve lunch and early dinners starting at 11:00 am. They serve fantastic homemade wood-fired pizza (after 11:00), great salads, and sandwiches on homemade bread. Open 7 days from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Haus Heidelberg (Hendersonville)

This fabulous German restaurant is located right at the point where Greenville Hwy meets Spartanburg Hwy just outside of downtown. The food is amazing. My favorites are the Sauerbraten, Weiner Schnitzel, and the Gypsy Schnitzel, and all of the sausages are fabulous! Save room for dessert as they have some fabulous choices. Open Mon-Thurs 11-2 for lunch and then 5-9 for dinner, and open Saturday from 11-9 and Sunday from 11-8. Reservations suggested.

MezzaLuna (Hendersonville)

Great Main Street spot serving wood-fired pizzas & Italian fare. Very good restaurant and a great setting sitting under the red umbrellas in the large sidewalk cafe area right on Hendersonville’s fabulous Main Street. Both the pizza and the Italian dishes are really good.

Pet friendly in the sidewalk cafe area.  Open 7 days a week from 11:00 am - 8:50 pm.

Camp Fire Grill (Flat Rock)

A great spot in Flat Rock’s Little Rainbow Row shops. They have great burgers, roasted chicken, and a lot more, as well as a full bar. Camp Fire Grill is owned by the same people as Hubba Hubba BBQ, which says a lot for the quality of the food. Pet friendly outside seating. Closed Tuesdays.

Open Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 - 8:00 pm. Open Thursday - Sunday 11:00 - 8:00.

Hubba Hubba Smokehouse (Flat Rock)

The area’s best BBQ according to many. Owned by the same people as Camp Fire Grill, and located right next door in Flat Rock’s Little Rainbow Row shops. Slow-smoked over wood fires, hand-pulled, and served with homemade sauces. Best in region if not even farther.

Open Monday - Thursday 11:00 - 3:00, Friday - Sunday 11:00 - 7:00.

Aroma Indian Restaurant (Hendersonville)

An excellent Indian restaurant on Hendersonville’s beautiful Main Street. It’s hard to walk anywhere near this place without craving Indian food as the aroma of the cooking wafts down Main Street and 5th Avenue as they prepare to open. Some outdoor seating available.

They source as much as possible from local farms and other local suppliers. Also serves lunch and early dinner.
